STEVE SPACEK (Beat Spacek, Africa Hi-tech, Black Pocket) is an artist who transcends genre and style, focusing on swing, melody, vibe and atmosphere. From his legendary output with the band Spacek – Curvatia (2001), Vintage Hi-Tech (2003); solo work on the cult Sound In Color imprint and collaborations with the late, great J.Dilla; to his under-the-radar Black Pocket project for dBridge’s Exit Records and his most recent work with Mark Pritchard as one half of Africa HiTech, his fearless approach to creation has always been progressive and highly original.

CDR Sydney is absolutely delighted to have Steve back to share some of his knowledge and wisdom at Redfern’s 107 Projects on Thursday, March 19, where audience members will get the rare opportunity to share insights into the NINJA TUNE signed artist as he delves into the past, present and future of his personal approach to music production.

In marking its 9th year as a key player in the development and nurturing of local electronic music, 2015 will see CDR Sydney continue to focus on allowing producers and music enthusiasts alike the chance to network with fellow artists, while sneaking an unabashed peek at what’s happening within the local scene through an on-the-night artist-submitted playlist; pumped through a killer club sound system provided by the legendary GROUNDED SOUND.

As always, entry is FREE and absolutely everyone is encouraged to come down.

Producers are asked to supply tracks to CDR staff on either a CDR or USB before 9:30pm on the night.
