INTERVIEW: She is Danger

Fierce ladies of dubstep bring the danger

If you were under the impression that dubstep is a man’s world, you might want to think again! London based female duo She Is Danger is bringing the heat and some well needed female essence to an otherwise very male oriented genre, not to mention giving the lads a run for their money.

She Is Danger consists of Maya Jane Coles and Lena Cullen, two vocalists and producers who write, produce, engineer and perform all their own original music, as well as make all their own stage visuals. Drawing influences from wide range of different genres and artists, they certainly manage to create their own unique mixture of rather dark electronic and dubstepy sounds.

Even though they are fairly new on the scene, She Is Danger have already made a name for themselves through a handful of successful remixes for artists such as Massive Attack, Groove Armada and Crystal Fighters (to mention a few) and have received radio spins by the likes of Annie Mac.

Their debut single release “Hurt You” is now out on their own label She is Danger Music and it includes remixes from Kanji Kinetic and Subscape, available in most online music stores. A full length album should be dropping later on in 2010.
