PROCESS
CDR PROCESS 001 LONDON from CDR on Vimeo.
Launched in August 2015, CDR Process is a partnership with the PRS for Music Foundation. The project consisted of an open call to UK-based unsigned artists with a selection of these music-makers offered live music performance training, one-on-one mentorship and creative feedback on their recordings. Additionally the project gave unsigned artists financial support, industry advice, enhanced recording and mixing processes, and tips for developing their production aesthetic(s).
CDR crew member Georgie, who has projected managed this venture, said:
“It was so great seeing artists go from their initial idea or track, through the development stages of production, and then on to live performance and label release. To the outside world, getting a track finished and then released may seem simple, but is actually very challenging for an artist. There are not many places where information or mentorship exists on how to go about this. Without it, a producer in their bedrooms can be very lost as to how to take that next step. Through training, support and mentorship, CDR Process helps artists to get their tracks from their homes, out to audiences around the world. It was a brilliant project and something that should definitely be replicated.”
Released in January 2017, the album CDR Process #001 is available via Bandcamp. Artists who feature include MYM, Typeson, and Vince Vella. https://cdr-projects.bandcamp.com/album/cdr-process-001
